NAB ISLAND (site code NAB)
The small island of Nab lies to the northeast of Simit. It has two mains
settlements in Saab and Shagiig. The inhabitants have long had a reputation
as boat-builders and sailors.

Cemetery with 2 qubbas and shrine of Fagiir Iskitti on S side of hamlet
of Saab. Mudbrick shrine 6.4m diameter and 2m high. Ref: 1/222-4.

Ruined diffi built in stone, mud and mudbrick. 2 towers partially preserved.

Ruined diffi on rocky outcrop to east of qubba cemetery, in stone, mudbrick
and jalus. Only small parts of foundations survive. Ref: 1/229

Surface scatters of Neolithic sherds and lithics on low mound in area disturbed
by postmedieval graves.
NAB 005
Konj occupation Med/postmedieval
Surface scatters of medieval and postmedieval sherds, and grindstones in
area of small rocky outcrop.

Traces of stone structure to N of Qubba cemetery. Requires further investigation.
