NAB ISLAND (site code NAB)

The small island of Nab lies to the northeast of Simit. It has two mains settlements in Saab and Shagiig. The inhabitants have long had a reputation as boat-builders and sailors.

Surface scatters of Neolithic sherds and lithics on low mound in area disturbed by postmedieval graves.

NAB 005

Surface scatters of medieval and postmedieval sherds, and grindstones in area of small rocky outcrop.

Traces of stone structure to N of Qubba cemetery. Requires further investigation.
